A good majority of the things you read on the internet are false or doctored in some way, shape, or form. The other day, I ran across a very real scary thing on the internet - bat eating spiders.
A study was recently published in the PLOS ONE, peer-reviewed journal. It talked about the presence of bat eating spiders found on ever continent save for Antarctica.
I have pretty bad arachnophobia. It’s definitely gotten better as I’ve been working to overcome it. (Field biology and arachnophobia are quite conflicting interests..) Spiders don’t tend to scare me anymore unless they startle me (like the asshole who decided to dangle down from visor in the truck as I’m driving!), but THESE guys….
I never want to run into these guys.

Also, looking into this further made me really see how little people check their sources before posting on the internet (in reference to another post I saw recently with a photoshopped spider on the side of a house claiming it eats cats and dogs. Thirty seconds of Googling discredits this claim.). It’s all about the sources, people of the internet.
